12 Days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech Itinerary
Day 1Casablanca airport – Transfer to your hotel
On the first day of our 12 days Morocco tour from Casablanca city, we will greet you upon your arrival at Casablanca’s Mohammed V airport. Then, we will drive you to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2Casablanca - Rabat – Chefchaouen
After breakfast at your hotel, our tour starts at the Hassan II Mosque, Africa’s second-largest religious building. The mosque is open to everyone, regardless of their religion.
Our 12 Days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech will take us to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. In Rabat, you will visit the magnificent Kasbah of Oudayas and Hassan Tower, which has an incomplete mosque.
Additionally, we will see the impressive Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Hassan II (the current King’s father). After King’s, we will leave the administrative capital and travel to Chefchaouen via Tuezzane. Most of the drive will take us over the foothills of the Rif Mountains before we arrive at the beautiful pearl of Morocco, Chefchaouen. Overnight in a riad/hotel.
Day 3Chefchaouen sightseeing tour
After breakfast at your hotel, we will explore the charming city of Chefchaouen, the Blue City. You can walk around the old Medina with its restored kasbah and Plaza Utta Hammas. The square in the town center is a great place to relax.
Chefchaouen is a beautiful town with blue-washed streets, white walls, and blue doors and windows. The mountains in the background create perfect settings for stunning photos.
After lunch, you will see the natural spring water of Ras El Ma. Unlike other parts of Morocco, Spain occupied this town.
Thus, Spanish and Moorish cultures have a significant influence. You will have a chance to meet with locals, wander through the Berber souks (markets), and enjoy this fantastic town. Overnight in a riad/hotel.
Day 4Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
The 12 Days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech continues as we leave Chefchaouen for Fes. We will cross the Rif Mountains to the ancient Roman town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will discover its mosaic floors, basilica, temple, and triumphal arch.
After that, we will visit Meknes, the 17th-century Medina. InMedinas, we will see Bab El-Mansour, the Granary, Swani Basin, the old medina witMedinas, and Lahdim Square. We will also take a break at a café in Lahdim Square.
Later, in the late afternoon, we will set off for Fes City. We will spend the night in a traditional riad in Medinadina.
Day 5Fes sightseeing tour
Today, we will explore the Medina of Fes with a guide. We will see the Royal Palace Gate and the Jewish Quarter, “Mellah,” in the old city. The Mellah dates back to the 14th century. You will also visit the Ceramics Cooperative to see traditional Moroccan crafts and beautiful mosaics.
Afterward, you will visit important historical sites in the medieval medina. These include Bou Inania Medersa, Bab Boujloud, Karaouiyine Mosque, Chouara, the famous tanneries, and Madrasa Seffarin, where artisans perform metalwork. You will also see beautiful masterpieces like Attarin Medersa and Neijarin Fountain.
In the afternoon, we will show you the Merenid tombs for a panoramic view of the medina of Fes. Overnight in your riad.
Day 6Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga dunes
Today, we are going on a 12 Days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech and the Sahara desert. During our journey, we will pass through the Middle Atlas mountains. We will stop at Ifran, a small town known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its resemblance to a Swiss alpine resort.
We are heading south through the biggest cedar forest in North Africa, where barbary monkeys live. In Azrou Forest, we can take pictures and feed the monkeys.
After lunch, we will continue south through Talghomt Pass, enjoying the beautiful views and landscapes. We will reach Ziz Valley and stop to see the stunning hidden oases with palm trees from a high viewpoint. We will arrive at the Sahara desert in about an hour, where your camels will await you.
Rest first, then ride camels with a guide across the dunes of the Erg Chebbi desert. Watch a beautiful sunset from a high dune, then walk to your camp to sleep in tents like nomads, with the option of spending the night in a luxury desert camp. After dinner, you’ll enjoy Berber music played by nomads around the fire and under a starlit sky.
Day 7Tour around Erg Chebbi by 4×4 – Camel ride and night in desert camp
Waking up early is a must to see one of the most beautiful sunrises of your life. After breakfast, we will start our trip to the Sahara Desert to see different areas. First, we’ll visit Merzouga Lake, home to unique birds. Then, we’ll go to the Sahara desert, where nomads traditionally live with their animals.
We will drink mint tea with them and see how they live. We will follow the fantastic dunes of Erg Chebbi along the path of the Paris Dakar Rally.
Along the way, we will visit the old mines in Mifis. France once operated these mines, and this visit will provide an excellent opportunity to explore them with a cultural Morocco tour company.
We will go to Khamlia village, home to black Berber people from Mali and Niger. We will have a chance to listen to their music and dance. Lunch will be in the village (Berber Pizza). Then, we will visit an impressive oasis on the edge of the dunes before ending our day in your hotel.
Day 8Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Today, we will leave the desert and head to Rissani. It used to be an essential stop for caravans traveling through the Sahara. If we are there on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, we can visit the souk, the biggest market in the area.
We then set off for Erfoud, a fossil town. Here, you will see stalls selling crystals, precious stones, and fossils. The workshop using Marmar is open to visitors.
We will travel to the Dades Valley, passing through villages like Mallaab, Tinjdad, and Toroug. Later, we will reach Todra Valley, a green area surrounded by mud villages and mountains. After driving for about 30 minutes, we will arrive at Todra Gorges. These narrow passages have cliffs that rise 300 meters on each side, making them a popular spot for climbers.
We will have lunch in town, then head to Dades Valley to see incredible rock formations called “monkey fingers” and pretty mud kasbahs. You will be welcomed with mint tea. Overnight in a hotel overlooking the valley.
Day 9Dades Valley – Ait Benhaddou – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
On the 9th day of our 12 Days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, we are going to El Kalaat M’gouna, also known as Roses Valley. Here, they gather more than 400 tons of rose petals each spring.
People use these petals to produce rosewater or sell them to perfume companies. The Festival of Roses is held here every May. As we travel from Kalaat M’gouna to Skoura, you will see many kasbahs among the greenery of Dades Valley.
The most stunning kasbahs in southern Morocco can be found here, and thousands of palm trees surround the tiny hamlet of Skoura. Next, we’ll travel to Ouarzazate, sometimes called the “Hollywood of Africa,” which is home to Morocco’s most prominent film studios.
From there, we’ll visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a brick-mud Berber village featured in numerous films and photos and now a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll have free time to explore the site and enjoy lunch in the town.
Then, after taking in the breathtaking views of the High Atlas mountain range (2260 m) at Tizi N’ Tichka Pass and the unique Berber towns perched atop the slopes, we will head to Marrakech. We will reach Marrakech late and spend the night at a riad in the Medina.
Day 10Marrakech sightseeing tour – Cultural Morocco tours
You will begin your city tour of Marrakech, the red city of Morocco and the second imperial city. After breakfast, your local guide will ensure you see the most significant historical and cultural sites, including the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia Mosque, Jemaa el Fna, the Ben Youssef Koranic School, and Morocco’s vibrant souks.
After lunch at a local eatery near the main square, you will witness snake charmers and storytellers at Jemaa El Fna. After that, you can explore the Majorelle Gardens and the Koutoubia Tower. Overnight in your traditional riad.
On our way to Essaouira after breakfast, we will see many goats climbing trees to eat Argan nuts and leaves, as this is the region of Argan trees. We will also visit a women’s cooperative for Argan oil. During this visit, you will learn about the different uses of the oil, from culinary to cosmetic products to medicine, along with its many benefits.
After several stops, we’ll arrive at this walled city about 3 hours from Marrakech (Essaouira), a beautiful white coastal town on the Atlantic Ocean. We will start our exploring day by visiting the ramparts called Skalla Fortress.
Then, we will walk inside the narrow alleys of the charming town of Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Besides beautiful arts and crafts, you’ll find objects carved from local Thuya wood. Enjoy lunch in a Moroccan way, where you will try various delicious seafood.
Essaouira is also known as the “City of the Wind,” which attracts surfers from all over the world. Romans, Phoenicians, and Portuguese once occupied Essaouira.
